This photo was taken by my wife, Camilla McGuinn, at the Lowrey Hotel in Manchester, England, May 25, 2001. I was on tour in the UK and Tony was on a re-election campaign. We were staying at the same hotel, and there were "bobbies" outside the front door. Camilla asked if we were in a high crime area, and they said, "No, the Prime Minister is staying here." Then they saw her polo shirt that had my name on the front, and asked for my autograph. My road manager spotted Tony Blair on the other side of the street, talking to some people. He ran over and shouted, "Hey, Tony, do you want to meet Roger McGuinn?" Tony asked, "Of the Byrds?"
The road manager said yes, and the Prime Minister left the people and came over to where I was signing posters for the police officers. We exchanged greetings, and I asked Tony if he would like a poster too. He wanted one, so I signed it for him while Camilla snapped a shot with our digital camera.
The whole thing was so much fun, I thought I'd post it to my web site.
     Cheers,
          Roger
